This course covers the key elements of Microsoft 365 management: Microsoft 365 Tenant Management, Microsoft 365 Identity Synchronisation and Microsoft 365 Security and Compliance.

Microsoft 365 Tenant Management covers the configuration of the Microsoft 365 tenant including the organisational profile, tenant subscription options, component services, user accounts and licences, security groups and administrative roles. You will then learn how to configure Microsoft 365, with a focus on configuring Office client connectivity. You will also learn how to manage user-controlled client installations of Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise deployments.

The remainder of the course will explore Microsoft 365 Identity Sync in depth, focusing on Azure Active Directory Connect and Connect Cloud Sync. Here, participants will learn how to plan and implement each of these directory synchronisation options, how to manage synchronised identities, and how to implement password management in Microsoft 365 with multifactor authentication and self-service password management.

In the context of Microsoft 365 Security Management, participants will first look at the most common types of threats and data breaches that organisations face today. It also explains how Microsoft 365 security solutions can address each of these threats. You will get an introduction to Microsoft Secure Score as well as Azure Active Directory Identity Protection. You will then learn how to manage Microsoft 365 security services, including Exchange Online Protection, Safe Attachments and Safe Links. In addition, the various reports for monitoring the security status of an organisation will be introduced. Participants will then look at threat intelligence, in particular how to use Microsoft 365 Defender, Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.

Following this, the key components of Microsoft 365 Compliance Management will be explored. This begins with an overview of all the key aspects of data governance, including data archiving and retention, Microsoft Purview message encryption and data loss prevention (DLP). Data archiving and retention will be explored in more depth, with particular focus on Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management, information barriers and DLP policies. In addition, participants will learn how to implement these compliance functions using data classification and sensitivity labels.

The seminar is suitable as preparation for the Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert certification.
